[SOLVED] Wait for RTX 3000 mobile or buy now? Resale value of Alienware m15 R3?

Got me eyes on an Alienware m15 R3 with i7 (8-core), RTX 2070, 32GB DDR4, 1TB NVMe, 4K OLED. Nearly $2,200 with tax.

Wondering if I should get it now or wait for RTX 3000 series.

Wonder how many hundreds of dollars in value will be lost - what the resale value of the Alienware will be.

I don't mind buying now unless the laptop will be worth way less in the short future.

Right now I have a beast custom gaming desktop that I built in 2014 (upgraded GPU since) I am selling tomorrow for $1,350 (paid $3,250). Have a mint mid-2014 MacBook Pro I can sell for $600 or so. And I have a like new MSI I am currently using as my main machine that's worth perhaps $600 (i5 9th gen 4-core, GTX 1650, 16GB DDR4, 1080p IPS, 256GB NVMe, 1TB SSHD).

Not everyone.

If you buy it now then it will only lose value if you try to sell it immediately. It's a toy, not an investment - nobody needs a gaming laptop and if you think you do then you're kidding yourself.

You'll enjoy it more if you wait for it (and pay for it out of your own pocket money), but that's just the nature of delayed gratification.

And everything's cheaper after Christmas.
