Is it possible to have a Konica Minolta Bizhub that is wired to the network wake upon a print job sent from a wireless Macbook?

Currently they need to go downstairs to the main office to physically wake the printer.

I havent gone onsite yet but I figure someone here might have some prior knowledge.

Probably the only solution is to set the unit to NOT go to sleep. Or at least have a long timeout period. Yes, it will use more energy but it will not have to be woken up and it will also print faster as it doesn't have to warm up for that first job.

I didnt even know this is a thing. It must be a mac only thing rather than a printer thing. I've got a Develop machine (The same as konica minolta and uses the same drivers) and it wakes up fine when a print job is sent from a windows machine. I dont ever remember seeing a setting for it either.
If this is printer is shared from another mac that is sleeping, that is another issue.

Id question if the printer is setup/installed correctly on the Macbook as well if the printer is configured correctly as I have yet to meet a printer that didn't wake for windows in a default setup and I would be surprised if it was truly so different for a Macbook.

So I spent some time with the printer and a PC and Macbook.
The printer is connected to the network via ethernet.
My PC both tested wired and wireless woke the printer up fine and completed the print job.
The Mac just popped up a window saying the printer is not connected and Printing - Looking for printer.

I tried it with both the Airprint driver the Mac picked when I first added the printer as well as the driver I download from the Konica website.

I am going to test it again with a usb ethernet adapter to see if having the Mac connected via a wired connection makes any difference.

That doesn't really answer the question. I was looking for version numbers as having the latest version might fix this.

I did find this on a google search:

Yeah, I don't have access to their computers at this point. I'm assuming the issue is an overall Mac problem rather than a specific OS based on their Mac's being new devices, mine being very old, and the printer itself being very old. I would assume the issue would have been resolved in the years since my Mac. I will confirm their Macs ages and are up to date on Monday.

I dont recall off hand. It's a first gen Macbook Air. 11.6? If I recall from installing the printer driver.
It's a wonder the drivers were installed because that is no longer supported. This is like trying to figure out a Windows 11 problem with Xp. There is no 11.6. You probably mean 10.6 Snow Leopard. 10.7 Lion is the latest supported on that rig. 10.11 El Capitan if you have a 2009 model of that first-gen series.

I have a Konica Minolta Bizhub 20 (yea, it's old) here at the home office, and my MacBook wakes it when I print.

I did and it did work but one of the users needs all the features of the printer and not just the Generic Postscript Driver.
I don't think you need a generic postscript driver to change the drivers to IPP. And if you do then you are stuck with it because it's a square peg in a round hole. The stupid Bonjour drivers can't always wake up printers. The manufacture has to build a better driver.
