Why would you still want to cut out mobile and iOS users. I am not gonna argue statistics but to limit your site by using flash doesn't seem like a great idea to me. I checked out your site and got the text non flash version as I use my iPad then left instantly. The same thing a potential big fish will do if they use an iPad.

I am not limiting my site to flash.. It makes designing my site easier, time effective, and with little web design experience it works great. The amount of time that will go into completely redesigning my site to look good on a tablet isn't worth the few people that it'd bring. Ultrabooks are flying off the shelves and people would still rather use a keyboard. Differences in opinion aside, any critique on the site itself?

It takes too long to load. I seriously suggest you revisit your decision to utilize flash since Adobe has abandoned support on the mobile side.

A h1 tag means that the text is very important.
You are not using it correctly.
Look up some seo on google.

A good start would be seomoz.

ie9 cuts off the right hand side of the logo nad right hand side text and the map overlays some of the text to it's left. Chrome is fine. Most of the time I view on an Ipad so cannot review your site.

Strange. I'm using ie9, chrome, firefox, and safari and I don't see that. Can you show me a screenshot?

And when their ultra book breaks, a lot of people use their tablet/phone to find a company to fix it...

Still WAY to much gray. Way to bland. It may be unique in the sense that its probably one of the most bland sites I have seen, but I do not think thats what you meant.

- Background is messed up
- The text look bad (try a different font all together, get rid of the center alignment)
- Loads slow and choppy
- Your color scheme, other than it being way to much gray, needs help
- Maybe it would be better if your content area as white and the rest was gray. It would be worth trying out.

It's hard to get past this, really. Why you would use Flash to handle the layout of your site is beyond me. It's especially strange for a "mobile device expert", given that Adobe has basically announced that there will be no more development of Flash on Android. They're taking mobile Flash out behind the barn and shooting it. Flash is a legacy technology. It's leaving the building. It's riding off into the sunset. It's being shipped off to the retirement home. It's going to live on a farm. Someone send the memo to Mr. Rex: Flash is not the future of the web.

It's extremely slow to load. I would guess that's because you're using Flash to... to... geez, I really can't get past this. I know my site is not good (new site in progress :p), so I shouldn't throw stones, but... I mean Flash? Doing the layout? Here is a quick and incomplete list of reactions my brain is trying to experience at the same time: :eek::o:mad::rolleyes::(:confused:

WHY? Why, in the name of all that is holy, would you do such a thing!? It's... it's...

OK, deep breath, extra dose of meds. Steady there, me. In an effort not to rant like a loon, I've put together this flowchart to help everyone decide if they should use Flash.

Code:
SHOULD I USE FLASH ON MY WEBSITE?

                         +--------------------------+
                         | Is your site |
                         | homestarrunner.com? |
                         +--------------------------+
                         / \
                        / \
                 +----+ +----+
                 | YES| | NO |
                 +----+ +----+
                     | |
                     | |
             +------------+ +----------------+
             | Go ahead! | | NO! NO! NO! |
             +------------+ | DON'T DO IT! |
                                                +----------------+

Hope this helps!

I'm with the others here. Honestly (and bluntly), I've seen better craigslist ads. If you're like some of the rest of us who have little web and design ability, do yourself a favor: spend $50 on a template and customize it.

lol

Alright. I guess i can understand everyone's deep sated hatred of the grey. I took the liberty of changing the background to a much "smoother" theme. Still has a little gray, but it has a little white mixed in.

Funny. Some say there's too much gray? Is it just something against grey?

Nope, nothing against gray, just not knowing how to use colors properly.

I see some white, black, yellow, red, blue, etc. Quite a bit of them actually. Some saying are saying the site loads slow and is bogged down by flash. Why are these issues only specific to technibble users? It loads smooth on every computer Ive used it from. It even loads fast on my android phone.

Honestly, you need to stop asking for critiques or reviews of your sites and logos if you cannot take professional opinions. If you are happier with asking your mom what she thinks, then stick with that. If you can't take constructive critism from professionals who understand the profession and who obviously have some insight in these matters, then don't even bother wasting our time.

I changed it prior to posting that after looking at the site again. Relax? lol. I love and respect the opinions. Just seems some people take their opinions too seriously. lol

Well, you said that only people on technibble shared certain opinions . . . Anyways, It looks better, but the content area should be a solid color, preferribly white.
