So a buddy of mine and I are trying to startup a side business. We were drafting some ideas up and ultimately decided on "Techtricians". For some reason that name stuck with us.

We plan on trying to express to customers that a "Techtrician" is more than just a computer tech, they are a technology specialist, and great with customers.

When we see that word two thoughts pop in our head "pediatrician" and "electrician".

So we are not sure if we will play the whole doctor theme or not.

I have 2 questions for the forum.

1) What does that name say to you, and what do you imagine when you read it.

2) What do you think of the logo idea we are using so far and what suggestions would you make.

I guess that is actually 4 questions.

*Btw we are really going to push the fact that we offer remote support.

Thanks for the help guys!

I first though Electrician and didn't think of Pediatrician until you wrote it.

However, I did think of this:
Patrician may refer to:

  • I'm probably in the minority on that association.

The first logo made me think of board level repair or some break/fix guy with passion for EE. The second suggests to me some sort of tech doctor who makes house calls.

I start associating with Technician, Diagnostician, Optician, Physician, Politician, Beautician...

I would think you want to use imagery that reinforces your desired emphasis on remote support. I think the doctor's kit bag (makes me think of house calls), or a tool bag (makes me think of a handyman/journeyman/electrician - also house calls) would take you down a different road. Unfortunately I can't think of a universally recognized icon for virtual medicine.

The green is really bright. I'm not too sure if that is a good idea or not because it is eye catching, but maybe you should change it to more of a bright red.

I think you should add something like "the doctor is in" though.
