This is from a CNC machine in a tool and die shop. Its for a CRT monitor with one or two colors, green and purple (they cant remember how many colors). The monitor is a NEC and the machine was made in 1990. The company who services this machine can sell them a replacement for $9000 or they say that you can connect any monitor if you figure out the wiring, but they wont offer any more help that that.

All it says on the connectors is CRT, the pin numbers, SNK, and HRStot

So i found this cable, i would need to convert the unknown black male adapter to a female, i could use the female connection in the monitor to do that.

Then i guess i could use this adapter

I still would like to know what this connection is called

My guess is you are looking at a proprietary form of a VGA DB9 connector. Your cable/adapter collection in your post might well solve your problem. You could always look at the number and connection of wires going to the connector. A VGA monitor uses 3 separate color channels and 2 sync lock channels. Quality VGA devices use coaxial wire to send these analog signals. SO: If you look at the cable and there are 5 coaxial wires, or at least 5 cables and a ground, you have VGA.

If you take a look at the connector and it only has one coaxial or one hookup according to the diagram, then follow that train of thought.

BEST way to test of course is with an osiliscope.

Thanks everybody. I did order those parts that i listed on in my second post and will try them out. I do not have access to a oscilloscope so i hope i don't ruin anything by trying it.

That connector is an EIAJ type connector of the 8-Pin variety if anyone else wants to know.
