I have a computer that needs a graphics card. They just need enough to operate their monitor, so nothing fancy and no PSU upgrade. Problem that I'm encountering is I can't find one from a reputable source like amazon, newegg, tigerdirect, etc etc that isn't something beyond the scope of what they need. The biggest thing is that we need it overnighted and an ebay seller may have what I need, but you don't know with an ebay seller if they will get it here overnight.

The machine is a HP Pavillion P7-1026b. It has 1 PCI Express x16 slot and 3 PCI Express x1 slots. the PSU is 250W. The onboard video is no longer working.

Consider this one: http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Passive-Graphics-01G-P3-1313-KR/dp/B004KABG1I/ref=sr_1_23?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1455160034&sr=1-23&keywords=pci+express+video+card&refinements=p_36:1253504011,p_n_condition-type:2224371011#Ask

In the Q&A section, someone says it's working fine in their 250 watt system. Factory mins still say 300 watt, but that pretty much assumes a loaded system. If your customer hasn't maxed it out with extra drives and cards, it would probably be just fine.

Thanks! This is the one that I was looking at. They don't have any extra bells and whistles with their computer. They literally just check email and do word, excel spreadsheet... and look at GIS and topo maps

Hope that it was tested and not just assumed it was only video.

Sorry I didn't reiterate... my test card doesn't have a VGA output, and their monitor does... I pulled it from one of the comps I have laying around here... which is the reason why I didn't let this one go out the door with them. I have two of these on the way.

Did you get this resolved yet? If you connect a different monitor to it does it still not display (anything, what-so-ever?)

This really sounds like a defective mother board. Usually when the on-board video doesn't work, the mother board will be defective - bulging caps usually around the back side of the CPU assembly. Capacitors can be bad and not show it. But most times they are either leaking or just bulging. If you don't know what a capacitor looks like, look up electrolytic capacitors in google.

So, did you ever get this issue resolved?

If so, what was the problem?
