I have a client that has 6 computers and they all run Windows 10 1803. 4 of them are his and require him to press enter after inputting his PIN. His wife's two computers do not require pressing enter after inputting the PIN. I've never seen a PIN enabled machine require pressing the enter. He would like to disable the enter requirement. Anybody know how?

Pin no enter required
Regular password enter is needed.
Both have a PIN set. I checked. Wife's works without pressing enter. His does not work unless you press enter. It is set to use a PIN. We did try a new PIN just in case. He was using the same PIN on all of his computers. Hers is different.

I'd put money (not much, but some) on his wife having set a numeric password on her computers instead of a PIN.

Whenever something weird's happening and there's a person involved there's a good chance that it's the person who's misbehaving, not the computer.
Both have numeric PIN and it's seems to be set correctly. How I always do it and works normally. For some reason his just isn't behaving normally. For some reason it's all 4. I wonder if it's Microsoft account related?

Sorry - I misread the original message and thought it was her computers that were misbehaving, not his. Just swap "his" and "her" throughout my reply and it'll all make a bit more sense. (I stand behind my suggestion to debug the human first though.)

I've seen this behaviour where a client had the same value set for his password and his PIN, but if changing the PIN doesn't change the behaviour then it's probably not that.

What happens when you add his Microsoft Account to one of your computers and then set a PIN?
Well, his MS account is setup for OneDrive, but I don't recall if it's setup for Windows. Hmm.

Is it a local account? I never have to press enter.

Perhaps if it's a Microsoft account (do they allow pin?) It requires enter

No problem here either.
Windows 10 Home 1803 and my account and two kids all linked to Microsoft accounts and all use a PIN to login without the need to press Enter.
