Any apps the use the new windows print dialog (edge, reader, and I think any uwp programs) can't find the printer. Printer works fine from office and chrome as well as test prints from windows. It's an HP 6960 but the dialog can't find any printer (such as the built in PDF printer either)

Google search comes up with a number of HP help pages but are all the usual reinstall the printer driver . (Which has been done)but no real fix to be found.

Anyone run into this or have a solution?

Thanks!

Hmm. Haven't heard of that one, but have you tried a new profile with admin privileges? Anything funky going on with the AntiVirus or any odd messages in Event Viewer/Custom Views/Administrative Events?

Does the Print Troubleshooter come up with an error?

Don't know if this is related, but I had a problem with my 2 HP 7640 AIO printers. I had just restored my "old" Surface Pro 4 to factory so I could set it up for my wife. Once it was finished, I tried installing the software/drivers. No luck. I tried everything, but it never worked properly. I was told that the latest versions of W10 were having known problems with HP printer drivers. What is weird is that my New Surface Pro had no problems installing the printers just a couple of weeks before. They also were installed and working a couple of weeks prior on the "Old" Surface Pro 4! I finally bit the bullet and bought an Epson AIO that installed with no problem and is actually much a better printer. Below is the discussion on the MS Answers forum.
