Windows 11 24h2 is now available on the download Win 11 page.

Thanks.

It's not yet being picked up by Windows Update, but that's not surprising, as I'm sure this Feature Update will roll out in waves like all of them have. I've triggered it manually, though, and it's currently at 78% of Step 3 of 3 - Installing.

Quick report back: So far the only "problem" I had was that this Feature Update undid the tweaks I made with Winaero Tweaker to things like my Icon font, Menu font, etc.

This has not happened at all throughout the whole series of 23H2 cumulative updates nor did it happen when going from 22H2 to 23H2.

It's not a huge deal, and I've reapplied those tweaks (I have to have a serifed font, slightly larger in size - Segoe UI has never "done it" for me, visually).

I'm currently applying it to my partner's laptop. I just want this one done with when I have "full control" over the process. I've tweaked his machine, too, and if he came in one morning with all the fonts he's used to having been changed, well . . .

This is a full new version instead of just an enablement package like the last 2. Did you also end up with a Windows.old folder as well?

I can't remember, Brian, aren't you on unsupported hardware? I thought I read that they had blocked the registry change allowing non-TPM machines from loading Win11... I still have one machine with a Ryzen 5 that isn't on the compatibility list, so I planning on replacing that one, but maybe I got a reprieve?

@HCHTech,

@Porthos is correct regarding my LG Grams and I now have a Dell Laptop that's Win11 compatible (Ryzen 7 processor), too.

While I still own the HP that's running Win11 on incompatible hardware, I was not referring to that.

The same thing happened with regard to Winaero Tweaker tweaks on the second Gram, too. This Feature Update is, unfortunately, a bit of a "return to form" where user tweaks that need not be "untweaked" get that treatment anyway.

BTW, I've upgraded 4 machines now and not a hitch with any one of them. This update takes a while to complete (which is unsurprising since MS calls it pretty much an "OS replacement" for Windows) but has been going perfectly smoothly and the end result has been as good as they get.

As I'm touching client computers for other things I'm kicking this update off at the end since I'd rather get this ball rolling while I'm there to see if it looks like anything will go wrong. I'm more than willing to walk away now once things get to the "Blue Screen of Progress" stage. I just warn them that when they first log in again after the upgrade, it will appear as though the computer just came out of the box and you get the, "Hi . . . We're setting a few things up for you," sequence because it is a major upgrade.
