I am doing my website and I don't know if to use the website for marketing only.

Or actually sell services and products directly using Opencart.

If someone wants a virus removed or their PC tuned up, they request and pay straight through the website.

Maybe a hybrid solution with Woocomerce.

Has anyone tried direct selling?

@SimonR It depends what kind of business you want. Do you want to be a computer business? or eCommerce? They are vastly different and rarely makes sense to be both.

For example, lets say I am one of your potential customers, I visit your site and want you to come out. What do I order? The virus removal package? the hardware package? All I know is that my computer is running slow. Its YOUR job to determine what the issue is.

Or lets say you just finished a job at my house, and now are saying to pay on your site? Why cant I just pay you now in front of me?

Or maybe Im a new customer, never seen your site before, and now you want money up front? Nah, dont trust you, could be a scam.

Believe it or not, we're in a customer service industry. People want to deal with you, not your site.

Go Wordpress, get a nice theme and keep it as your online brochure.

Thank you for your replies, they make perfect sense.

I am going to get a wireless credit card terminal, then I can take customer payments on site.
