Bryce Whitty here from Technibble.com,
In this video, I am going to share with you a critical mistake that MSPs make with their online marketing.
One of the big issues I’m seeing, is computer repair businesses and MSP’s are targeting “How to fix” keywords. This could be how to fix a specific Microsoft Outlook error, or what to do when they see a certain error message. The business owner may have done some keyword research and saw it came back with a good amount of traffic, or maybe they are just simply writing about what they know.
These DO bring in decent amount of search engine traffic too. People look at their Google Analytics, see lots of traffic coming in and think they are kicking goals. However, it’s the wrong sort of traffic. Someone searching for how to fix something themselves are not likely to become clients. They have already chosen to not pay someone and attempt fix it themselves.
People searching for a specific error message also tend to be more break/fix than a managed service client. They have a single issue they are trying to make go away but may not be looking at having their entire business looked after.
Instead, when creating your site’s pages, you should be targeting local keywords, even down to suburb level rather than city level. Also mention what your Unique Selling Proposition is, like that you are an “IT support for dental practices in
It makes it much easier to compete and rank well. Don’t make your websites traffic a vanity metric. Its better to have a hundred of the right people, rather than ten thousand of the wrong people.
Thats it for this video. This is Bryce Whitty from Technibble.com
