Simple Port Forwarding is a now freeware application (was previously $15) that is designed to make forwarding ports on a router easy. This application would be useful to both technicians and clients.
While most technicians know how to port forward a router, this application has a growing list of game/application ports so we know which ports need to be forwarded and saves us having to search for the ports. To use it, you just select which router you are using from its evergrowing list, enter the username and password of the router/modem, choose which game or application you want to port forward and press the Update Router button.
It also has some other nice time saving features such as the ability to show the default username and password for the modem you have chosen.
Of course, if the computer that is having its ports forwarded changes its IP address because of DHCP, the forwarding would no longer work so the appilication includes a quick way to set the IP address of the local computer to static.
This application is definitely worth checking out.

Dont really see a use for this.
Can be downloaded from: http://www.majorgeeks.com/Simple_Port_Forwarding_d5999.html
This will come in handy! Thanks!
Sorry to double comment but your direct download link brings up “The page you requested does not exist. For your convenience, a search was performed using the query files OR setups OR simple OR port OR forwarding OR v2 OR 0 OR 2 OR setup OR exe.”
Can this be run as a portable application?
Heres the correct link, looks like the version changed from 2.0.2 to 2.0.4 thats why the link isnt’t working.

Casey, most technicians (such as yourself) know how to port forward. This tool was mentioned for its convenience factor.
I could see this being of some use if it was portable and I could keep it on a flash drive. Just for quick reference to the router and logon, not really for the port forwarding. I guess a text file would work too though :-)
Could someone tell me what port fowarding is….and is it usefull if you don’t have a router?
Brilliant!
Given the large (and increasing) number of different modem/routers out there that I come across & have to set up, this looks like a winner if it does what it says.
Just thought I would add that the guy who made this just released an updated version that also has a semi-portable version.
Sure everyone here can port forward a router but the main draw is the list of applications, with some applications needing multiple ports opened this eliminates the time needed to research what ports need to be opened for a particular application or game.
Definitely one for the toolbox. Thanks!
Port forwarding is a little to advanced for most users to maintain. Clients buy routers to access the internet from multiple devices, not for the firewall. So an alternitive, no maintnace, way is to turn the firewall off opeoning all ports just like before they had a router. If the router does not have an off option for the firewall just set the DMZ to the routers ip address or use 0 for the router address. Ex. 192.168.0.x or 192.168.0.0 (where x is the router address
