Great selection Bryce. I have tried most of them but the one I haven’t which seems most useful is the Dell Service Tag Scanner. I deal with a lot of Dell’s so this will be a huge time saver!

  • Jack says:

    Very nice list!

    • MonkeyBytes says:

Square is an awesome app and they mail you a free card reader that plugs into your headphone jack.

  • Chris says:

Is the dell one available for IPhone at all as it would be great for me

  • Steven says:

Great post, thank you. I have one more great app that I wanted to share. I use it to help run my business. It is called mobilebiz and it does invoices and allows you to use the phone as a bar code scanner to enter items and recall them for sales. The pro version is not free but there is a free trial version. It will pull your phone contacts in as well.

  • Chris says:

Good post. I am all about android. The dell service tag app and Square look real interesting. Thanks again, as always..

  • Kris says:

Another great one is Bios Beep Codes, by Santiago Martinez. Huge list of BIOS manufactures and the various beep codes. It lists both the error message and a small description of the error. A lot quicker then searching google for beep codes.

  • Good list.

What do people use for RDP?

  • Neeraj Rawat says:

Nice list and Dell Service Tag Scanner is an awesome tool and seems kinda exclusive in the list

  • David Kane says:

I also user Timr (timr.com) for my Android. Provides time/job/project/mileage tracking with GPS location.

  • Chad McCabe says:

I would like to let everyone know about a really good app … there is a free ( trial ) version and a much better paid one as well its an android app called PrintAnywhere … I use it and it really works well

  • Chad McCabe says:

I use square and must say the company really is friendly and with the free headphone dongle and fees they charge to process a payment they are just as good if not better then Paypal …

  • My Mobile PC Tech says:

Fantastic apps! Being mobile these apps will help a lot! Thank you!

  • Christi says:

For mileage and time tracking I like Android Time Card.

  • Paul says:

I looked into Square and found a site that didn’t give me any assurances (no phone numbers to contact them?) and the Better Business Bureau in my locale could not get any information on them (company refused two requests for more information and the only recorded activity was a resolved complaint). A merchant services rep told me (on the QT) that they almost went under a short time ago and that many users have come to them with major complaints about the service, like waiting up to 14 days to get their money and waiting weeks to receive a response to critical emails.

I like the concept…I’m encouraged by the users here that have had good luck with them, but I have to say I am skeptical about giving such an organization any of my business’s financials without a phone contact and better references. Any comments from users of this service?

  • It’s not out yet, but join.me is coming soon with their Android version of their remote screen sharing app. This is huge for helping customers from your smartphone when you are on the go!
