SUPERAntiSpyware Portable – Remove Spyware, Not Just the Easy Ones

Shares

SUPERAntiSpyware is an anti-spyware/anti-malware product that is well known amongst computer technicians. SAS just got even better by officially releasing a portable version of their product. The portable version is almost identical to the installed version in the way that it deals with malware, except that it exists as a single, portable file.

When you download the portable version from the official website, you will probably notice it has a strange file name like “SAS-4325.COM”. The reason for this is because the last 4 numbers of the file name are random. This helps prevent some of the nastier infections from closing SAS Portable when it runs.
SAS Portable also comes as a .COM file instead of a .EXE file because many infections will try to prevent .EXE files from running, so it has those bases covered.

SUPERAntiSpyware Portable is free, updates easily and is definitely a tool you will want to keep on your USB drive to deal with malware infections.

I had absolutely no idea they did a portable version. This is fantastic. For the times I don’t want to install an Antivirus I take ClamWin Portable, but having this as well is brilliant.

The abbreviation SAS says it all! Death from above for malware. This sounds like a great piece of free software to have on the old stiffie. Thank you for sharing!

Well “Super”Antispyware..pretty lame name for a product..looked at it the first time, thought what a kind of cheap product it might be and guess what?it beat my expectations!

It does its work well to remove threats.

I have been using a homemade portable version of this for over two years now, nice to see they finally caught on.

Awesome. I’ve been UniExtracting the SAS installer for my own makeshift portable version, but now that this is out it’s so much better. Haven’t tried yet, but I hope it works in a number of my Windows-based live CDs.

Portable versions – gotta love em

  • dz3000 says:

SAS can be portable if you just copy the program files folder from an installed pc to a thumb drive. This trick works for a wide varity of programs I personnally have been using Avira, SAS, and antimalware for over a year off a thumb drive.

Nice program – but it’s quite sensitive and shows a lot of false positive.

  • Bob says:

Thanks, a great tool just got greater

  • Tony says:

Thank goodness for this! Hopefully malwarebytes will do the same, though it already installs in safemode fine anyways ^_^

    *throws combofix to the side*

Bought Time They Did This! Now We Just Need To Get Malwarebytes To Do The Same…

  • pdok says:

I just used this on a machine heavily infected with a rootkit that uninstalled MBAM, and Avira when it installed itself. The rootkit and associated keylogger were deeply embedded in the system files and registry, and prevented every form of anti-virus software from running, including the MSE, AVG, Norton (last resort), MBAM, and a few other install programs in safe mode, etc.

This little program sneaked past the malware’s defenses with the .com extension trick, and eliminated the active parts of the rootkit, allowing me to finally install MBAM and MSE and get rid of the rest of it.

SAS did not find all the pieces, but it killed the primary parts, so I consider it a success.

Another great portable is VIPRE Rescue:

The Deep scan can take a long time but it always finds stuff others miss.

  • Parso says:

Would most of you guys on here recommend this program over AVG FREE?

  • Shane Fowler says:

sounds like a great addition to my pocket full of flash drives I carry..

I wonder if this will make it easier to use on UBCD4Win. I tried putting the latest version on a few weeks ago and ran into all sorts of problems.
