Hello Everyone, As of November my client started having MS Office problems when I believe Microsoft implemented some new authorization changes running in the background. I removed the clients current install and then installed MS Office 365 apps for business. It had crashing issues which were resolved for about 2 weeks by clearing out temp files, doing a DSM repair and using the full repair of MS O365. But today it is happening again to the frustration of the client. A new full repair of MS O365 did not fix the issue but using "run as admin" for excel has apparently avoided the crash. I did disable a Excel Report COM Addin but that did not fix the issue. Quote from client:

"It's runs fine for days, then all of a sudden...bam...nope not running again. frustrating for sure"

Anyone found a tried and true solution for this?

While the cause is unclear, here are some troubleshooting steps that might help:

Safe Mode: Try starting the affected Office app (e.g., Excel) in Safe Mode (hold Ctrl while opening). This disables add-ins that might be causing conflicts.

Update Office: Ensure Office 365 is fully updated to benefit from the latest bug fixes.

Selective Startup: Temporarily disable all non-Microsoft startup programs to isolate potential conflicts.

Consider a Third-Party Antivirus: If using a non-Microsoft antivirus, temporarily disable it to see if it interferes with Office.

Advanced Troubleshooting:
Check for Windows Updates.
Create a new user profile to rule out profile corruption.

If none of these work, consider a reinstall of Office 365 using the "Online Repair" option (keeps user data).

For complex issues, involving a migration specialist might be best.
