Solved: replaced power adapter and it got fried, too. Either the DC jack or mobo is bad and causing a short.
------------
Acer Predator 15 (G9-593, GTX 1070) does nothing when the power button is pressed and all the LED lights are off, including the indicator light for when it's plugged in.
Tried a universal power charger.
The DC jack is not soldered to the motherboard and it feels very tight.
Seems like I have two options: try replacing the DC jack first and if that does not work, replace the motherboard.
All I am finding for a motherboard is one that's a massive $549.
