[SOLVED] Acer Predator Laptop Black Screen After Each Reboot

Solution: did a nuke and pave and later discovered the AC adapter was getting fried due to a short causes by the mobo or DC jack.

Customer brought me this laptop because it needed Windows Updates fixed and a new battery installed.

Ever since the customer brought it to me, it has displayed nothing after each reboot. The fix is to press the power button to put it to sleep and then wake it up. They never complained about this.

Reinstalled Windows 10 and updates work now, but still the black screen issue. Installed a new battery.

Usually there's no issue with doing a fresh start after a shutdown.

I’d start looking at BIOS and video drivers. The blackscreen is that during post or only after Windows loads?

BIOS is 1 version behind. Kinda scared to upgrade in case it bricks the machine. New BIOS version says it fixes Intel Sceptre issues.

Has latest GPU driver. Issue happens right away - black screen at boot - no UEFI logo or anything.
