So I'm testing software for this dental office V2P. That also requires restore to dissimilar hardware. Acronis does not provide that immediately via trial. Have to submit a request.

So I decide to take a look at EaseUS. I know many here like it. When I went to the site I noticed poor English - no big deal. Lots of software from non-English speaking countries have that issue.

But when I went to install it I noticed that it is from China via the certificate. Not exactly an environment I trust. Just wondering if anyone else has had that concern?

Used it maybe a dozen times on one of my bench machines, only cloning disc to disc, worked perfectly each time.
The only reason I don't use it more often is that I have Clonezilla on cd, just more portable

I love it, and use it to do scheduled backups of customers machines. Anytime ive needed to do a restore, it has worked. also have used it numerous times to clone, backup, restore, universal restore etc.

have used the server, workstation and free edition.

I'm not worried about the technical abilities of the software package. I'm worried about the security aspect. Maybe I'm just being paranoid.

Many years ago I bought a cheap NAS from CompUSA. One day I came home and someone from an IP in China had a ftp connection and was downloading from the drive. I know the device had to have called home since there was no way for someone to hit it from the WAN.

Over the years there have been comments/articles about that type of vulnerability. Meaning a backdoor.

EaseUS is completely legitimate. Might I suggest Clonezilla. Clonezilla is my go to disk cloning software, and it has never failed me. Has a slight learning curve, but it is a great piece of software.

If your worried about backdoors in chinese software you should be just as worried if not more so by any software from an American Corp.
