I tried it but had problems restoring the image. Can't recall exactly what the issue was, but I could find no support and didn't want to risk recommending it to my customers only to have it fail to restore. Maybe I should give it another try. I know it got very high marks in a comparison review I had read. If I can find that, I'll post the link.

I havent tried it but have also had issues with 'free' and 'cheap' imaging tools in the past, which have resulted in some pretty bad experiences.

These days I only use Shadowprotect.

Imaging = not something to try to scrimp on in my experience.

Going slightly off topic here, since the original software mentioned here met with some bad reviews. Have any of you tried FarStone's Total Recovery Pro? Way back when I started seeing more and more RAID setups I needed something that could work with all the configurations I encountered. This program has been very good for me over the past few years. Just wondering if anyone else here uses it. Worth a look. Not a freebie, but nevertheless, still a good program.

I have read many good reviews of FarStone programs; however, the cost is $45 just for the program for a customer with a single PC. That is a problem for many people. I have found that I usually need a free program so that I can get paid for my setup work.

I read some old reviews that had problems so I looked at the latest release log and found changes for those problems. The current version is 5.2. If the reviews of v5.2 are good, I suspect they will launch this as a retail program soon.
