A little bummed that some of the most popular AV's aren't on their list (Norton, TM, MSE)

Yeah . . . it's a real shame. They even missed AVG :(

They do not 'miss' any AV from testing. The way it works is that AV-Comparatives only test AV from companies which pay them.

So the results are not a wide ranging survey of what is currently available or popular in the market (which would be nice to see). The results are a test of AV from companies who are willing to pay to get their product tested.

It does make you wonder why some of the worst performing companies, like VIPRE, pay for the testing.

Instead of calling their tests "Independent Tests of Anti-Virus Software", it should be "Independent Tests of Anti-Virus Software from a self-selecting sample of AV companies who pay us to test their software" - which is more accurate but not such a snappy sounding title ;)

Can you please provide a citation to support this? I have never read that but have read that AV companies sometimes withdraw from testing for a number of reasons (mostly marketing, I assume).

It's up to the AV company to apply for the inclusion in the tests. All AV companies that do apply, pay the same fee amount to be tested. It's one of the lowest testing fees out there. And the same price for all entrants...thus keeping neutrality, no bias.

Has anyone here been selling Bullguard?

It is cheap, has nice packaging and software finish, and is testing really well. Even the regular price at a brick-and-mortar store is at MOST $30 for their AV product.

Or will clients be scared off by something they haven't heard of? Though, most have only heard of McAfee, Norton, and MAYBE Kaspersky.

The shop I used to work at sold it exclusively. It isn't too bad, not sure if it still does but it used the Bitdefender engine.
It is also special because they pay you a commission if the customer renews/upgrades via Bullguard directly.

I have to admit that we're seeing quite a few customers with Bullguard, but we are also seeing them with issues.

To be honest we're happy promoting Kaspersky.
