I tried to look for Level Platforms and it would seem that they no longer exist, or rather have been transformed into something new; AVG Business Managed Workplace. Have any of you used this? Any thoughts or opinions on it?

AVG brand! Run away. (My opinion and thought)

I used there AV maybe 10 years ago and when they started going down hill...I switched. If I was starting out, I would not choose this as my RMM product; as a company there is not a clear path on what there doing.

I agree with CTL. Too many companies are jumping on the "MSP" bandwagon. Kind of like when "cloud" became the buzzword. Now every company with anything to sell is adding "MSP" after the name and pushing it out there w/o any clue as to what managed services/software means or what the providers (us) really need. Couple this with lack of a roadmap and it spells disaster.

Yeah, that's kind of how I have been feeling about it. My first thought was "an antivirus company offering managed services???" but then while looking at it, i was not convinced that it would hold a light to the better brands/companies. On a side note, why is it that when I google "level platforms" and click on the top link "www.levelplatforms.com" it takes you to the AVG site? Did they buy level platforms? if I recall, my first help desk job used level platforms and I though it was one of the industry leading ones to use.

Yes, AVG bought LevelPlatforms, and changed its name to AVG Managed Workplace. I guess, from everything I have read, it is pretty much the same product just with a new name, and supposedly its a pretty decent product. Honestly though, I haven't looked farther than that because of the AVG name, same reasons as above.

I believe AVG grabbed them up, because they had cash and level platforms had a huge debt payment coming due. As far as I can tell from what I have read about it, AVG didn't have a clear plan from the beginning. Just want to get into the MSP space. The product may still be decent now, but AVG not having a game plan\strategy for growth I wouldn't put my faith in it.
