That's fantastic! I'm always amazed how a fun little project turns into something huge. Nice going.

I'd never heard of them, thought they sounded like a fun gift until I saw the ridiculous price of $19.99! I was thinking more like $2.

If you don't want to buy any, then don't. But don't come in here and insult the guy who makes them. In the words of Bob and Doug, "take off you hoser!"

$20 is a bit high for the dice. $2 is low... I don't think he insulted anyone by stating the obvious.

If he was trying to sell them in this thread, I'd say haggling about the price would be fine. However, he's not selling them here; he's simply excited about his recent order.

Good idea. Go ahead and find someone that will actually make them for less then $2.00 and i'll be glad to sell them for that price. Actually once you find that person I have other things they can make for me. You can PM me the info.

Is it ok if the dice are made out of bits of paper and tape and don't come with the nice bag? If so I might have a supplier for you. :)

I swear, it's like people think just because something is made overseas it only costs 50 cents to make and the rest is profit.

Congrats on your order!

@Angry_Geek and RichmondTech appreciate the comments

@ljtechservices.....Just shoot me an email and i'll give you a good price.....;)

Not the $2 like has been mentioned unless they contact me about the manufacturer ;)

Regardless if $20 is high or not.. did you hear what he said! 1100 sets! WOOT WOOT! Lets do the math 1100 x $19.99 = GOOD TIMES!

Congratulations man! In the spirit of Office Space.. "You know they guy that made the pet rock?... Well he made a Million dollars!"

May these dice be your pet rock. :) Helluva lot better than a jump to conclusion mat!

+1 I think of Office Space everyday that I come in to my full time job, lol. Congrats by the way.

That's really cool, it's like I know someone famous :)

Not really .... You know someone that made "Dice" ;)

That is why I enjoy seeing people on here think outside of the box and venture into things....You just never know

It wasn't clear from the OP's post that he was the developer or originator of the dice, as far as I knew he was just distributing them. $2 is, admittedly, a low ball amount, but the price would need to be closer to $2 than to $20 for me to consider a purchase or to recommend them to my friends/associates/clients.

It's great that the OP was able to secure a large order for them.

BTW, who are Bob and Doug and why would I care what they have to say?

It was a little comic relief, probably didn't appear that way. Watch Strange Brew, one of Canada's great contributions to the dumb yet hilarious movie genre.

I know another guy that recently got out of the Marine Corps and started his own coin business. Now some people might think "gee $11/$15 for a simple coin" but apparently he is selling them and that is why he made the Inc500 listing 2 years in a row.

Bottom line is $2 or even close to $2 is a bit crazy if you actually researched the expenses to have anything created and distributed.

I know other owners like myself that have used them in our day to day operation. Nothing is a better ice breaker than sitting in front of someones computer and then pulling the dice out and giving them a roll for a solution. It typically takes the customer a few minutes to realize you are just messing
with them.

I've sold them to individuals just in my store that think they are amusing and to companies for conferences they are holding to give attendees. Typically people in the IT industry get amused easily and $10/$20 bucks is pretty trivial to most of them.
