I have a client with a Dell Opt 5060 only Display Port output. He purchased an LG 34WP500-B. It has a max resolution of 2560x1080 but I can only get 1920*1080 output which is blurry. My understanding is that the Intel chipset should support this but it doesn't show as an option under any video settings. Have used the windows 10 detected drivers, the latest drivers from Dell and Intel(which appear to be the same...) no change. The connection is via a DP to an HDMI adapter and then over an HDMI cable. I tried an upgraded HDMI cable(because I thought that this unit had HDMI...My bad.)

I am assuming that the issue is the cable but I may be wrong on what an Intel UHD 630 supports

So Recommendations on a GOOD DP to HDMI cable that will support this or do I need a new video card. And what card do you guys recommend for this? I so rarely have to get add-on video cards that I am out of step with what is current or what has the proper resolution. I see lots of specs on MAX resolution but few that list ALL the supported modes.

TIA

I would say my guess is that problem is the DP to HDMI adapter and replacing that would likely be the most cost effective solution.

I just found and was reading this article it looks like passive adapters only support up to 2048 x 1200 so looks like you would need an active adapter which I have never used myself.

Any cable rated for 4k should be able to handle this, and there are multiple display port to hdmi options on Amazon and elsewhere in this space.

I'm mostly disturbed by that monitor, typically they give you HDMI and display port... not 2x HDMI.

I hate this space, there's nothing to do but part swap until you find a configuration that works.

It's not a very well configured monitor. HDMI only inputs....and the most annoying thing to me, the 3.5mm headphone output is ALWAYS in 5.1 mode, even though it's just a normal trs output. I could not for the life of me figure out how to get it to work in just stereo audio.

I feel ya. Seeing this $300+ monitor with no DisplayPort. You think by now all these higher end monitors would have DP. I understand the bargin basement $100 23.6" monitor can't slide in DP, but I wish DP was king.

I have no problem using HDMI on a high end monitor but I do think it is ridiculous that they don't have both on a higher end device.
