Hey guys - I hate to admit that I have been doing this for years, and never really been involved in setting up a calendar sync with Outlook.

I have a customer who used google calendar sync, and now that is going away.

He has only two computers - and simply needs to have it setup so that when he puts in a date into the calendar - the other system updates it as well.

So any other free solutions? He doesn't mind paying if there is a good paid solution either.

And how to go about setting that up in Outlook?

I wasnt aware that google calander is going away? Or did I read that wrong.

Rackspace, If you have email accounts with them (10 bucks a month) you can also get calander support for an extra charge.

My Google calander sync is still working as far as I know. From my Galaxy blaze I still sync. (??).

Google calendar sync for Outlook was discontinued a short while back.

With gSyncit - how do I implement it? And transfer over their existing calendar in Outlook?

Yea, Google Calendar Sync (the free one) hasn't been supported in some time, but still kinda sorta works, sometimes...

I move my customers to Thunderbird, Add Lightning (calendar add-on) and "Provider for Google Calendar". add their account/calendar to the calendar, and your off and running. Notification, Tasks, and sync. Did this the first time for a guy that was a die-hard Outlook fan, but wanted his calendar sync'd to his Android phone. Has absolutely loves Thunderbird ever since. And its easier for me to support in most cases, definitely easier to transfer!

Thanks for the info - however I still have no idea where to even begin with the transferring of the current calendar to another program.

Does the gSyncit work with Outlook? If so, where do I change the current calendar config in outlook to switch it to gsyncit?

It is made primarily for Outlook. Sets up as an addon, you put in your Google email and password and off it goes. There are quite a few options but generally the defaults work fine.
Have you looked at the GSyncit website?

And yes, Google Calendar Sync still works but is not supported anymore. Even when it was in support, we had a lot of intermittent issues with it.
