I just told them they should replace it. I removed it from the case.

They just wanted to use the old CPU. Don’t think they wanted to spend $240 a second time on a new CPU.

Time taken X hourly rate. Either your hourly rate is insanely low or you are much, much, much faster at doing this kind of work than I could ever hope to be.

So they have already spent almost the price of a new PC. Sure it has some new components now but it was a costly exercise.
As for charging the client, US$120 (about AU$155?) seems insanely cheap for the effort.

But having said that I do understand that clients freak out when they cop an invoice that's almost half the PC's replacement costs!
