I will try and remember next time I relaunch the NiceHash Miner 2, only present in the fancier GUI version, and I couldn't find mention of it to learn when and why it happened either. Yeah I have to tell my AV to ignore the entire folder that NiceHash is installed in to keep it from quarantining and deleting my miners.
Oh yeah NH 2 won't do AMD. Need NH Legacy (Which is still maintained)

I am on mobile right now, but apparently there is one on Newegg, a Rosewill, which has great reviews from miners. 1600W I believe.

Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000 using Tapatalk

I know about the Rosewell for $250. Thanks
What do you think about two HP server power supply (700w and 900w). Listed for $150

It just makes me wonder if they will eventually drop legacy or drop AMD support I would think not but it does raise the question. Is there an official statement about it and why?

... I did try to post an image but looks like it didn't work haven't needed or wanted to in a while is there any particular "rules" to posting images?

No, but you use the IMG address and not the imgur website address... here's that pic:

IIRC I thought I saw issues with the AMD drivers as the reasoning.

EDIT:

Found an official statement on Twitter:
https://twitter.com/NiceHashMining/status/902616886759841792

"AMD users, we apologize! AMD support has been removed from NHM v2 because NHM Legacy gives significantly higher performance for AMD." Still doesn't say much, but there ya go.

Odd, because it was also stated that NHL was having all of it's anti-virus flags hit because of the AMD bit, and that same time was when they removed AMD from NH2

lol I was exhausted so I was probably not paying attention I know that my AV broke both NH2 and NHL, back when NH2 included AMD at least, I don't know if it was just the AMD parts or what but I had to put the install locations on an ignore/skip list which I hate but was running into too many issues trying to whitelist each little piece.

I switched over to Einsteinium on Suprnova.cc - What To Mine has EMC2 at $46.46/day so we'll see if this is a blessing in disguise or not.

The music industry seems to want to go with Monero.

We could be entering into a fascinating new time of everything slowly moving to these different cryptocurrencies.

I think if the market wants it, then it will happen. It might be messy at first, but it might be the future.

NiceHash been down for closing on 8 hours now, and no statement...
I noticed my Nicehash miner was down and couldn't check balance about three hours ago. Lots of speculation on the Interwebs right now. I'll be out about $130 if they disappear into the night.

@Moltuae What are you switching to?
Haven't yet.

Been out on jobs all day today (don't you just hate it when work gets in the way). So I just left it this morning, in the hope that they'd have it fixed by the time I returned. One or two of my L3+ miners seem to have switched over to Prohashing (which I had configured as a lower priority pool). If the outage continues I'll probably leave them on that or rent them out on MiningRigRentals. A friend of mine is trying WinMiner, which is similar to NiceHash apparently, but I haven't tried it myself yet.

Uh oh...

Unfortunately, there has been a security breach involving NiceHash website. We are currently investigating the nature of the incident and, as a result, we are stopping all operations for the next 24 hours.

Importantly, our payment system was compromised and the contents of the NiceHash Bitcoin wallet have been stolen. We are working to verify the precise number of BTC taken.

Clearly, this is a matter of deep concern and we are working hard to rectify the matter in the coming days. In addition to undertaking our own investigation, the incident has been reported to the relevant authorities and law enforcement and we are co-operating with them as a matter of urgency.

We are fully committed to restoring the NiceHash service with the highest security measures at the earliest opportunity.

We would not exist without our devoted buyers and miners all around the globe. We understand that you will have a lot of questions, and we ask for patience and understanding while we investigate the causes and find the appropriate solutions for the future of the service. We will endeavour to update you at regular intervals.

While the full scope of what happened is not yet known, we recommend, as a precaution, that you change your online passwords.

We are truly sorry for any inconvenience that this may have caused and are committing every resource towards solving this issue as soon as possible.

Ya, the pooch is screwed on NH...

.

Gee, thats terrible. But also how convenient, they can just put out a simple statement:

"Sorry, everything is gone. Lets try this again, okay ?"

I'm surprised it hasn't happened before this - they must have had an awfully big target on their back for a while now. I think I'll give WinMiner a try, better than the rig sitting idle while they work this out. Somehow I doubt their pockets are deep enough to just absorb the loss and make everyone whole. Kinda glad I didn't use a NH wallet, now.

REALLY glad I started with a Trezor.
Rule #1 of bitcoin: Always be in charge of your own private keys
Rule #2 of bitcoin: Never have more in a third-party platform than you can afford to lose.

Edit:

And to note: NiceHash, I think you're fooling yourself. If you think your miners are going to let you sweep $60 million under the carpet without any repercussions, you are naive. Run, hide. I think at this point, you shouldn't be afraid of everyone bailing your platform; you should be moderately afraid of the lawsuits; but mostly, you should be afraid of those who may look to alternative methods to reclaim their money.
