CryptoLocker hit during initial 8.1 setup of brand new computer

I would also suggest a change of e-mail credentials (accounts).
Maybe their account is compromised some how?
Who knows in today's crazy world.

I am guessing when they setup the new computer and typed in their microsoft account it setup Onedrive that was on their other computer and it contained cryptolocker. I have heard of many of the syncing type services that can contain cryptolocker.

Heard back from the guy. He's pretty sure at this point it was only the wallpaper. He did a factory restore and set it up with a local account.
