I think so too, right up to the W/T 420/520 when they changed to a chicklet/island style keyboard. I had an E530 awhile back and I wasn't impressed with the keyboard after the change. I gave it to my nephew and went back to T520's and older.
There is a mod to install one of the older keyboards into the X230 series and is adaptable to the T/W series but it requires more software knowledge than I have to make it work correctly. Great project for a hobbyist though.
