A client brought his Dell N5110 laptop in for a defective HDD. We were able to back up his files with no problem but it sounded like the coffee would be ready any minute to bag. :D It was running Windows 10 Home. We install the SSD and went to install Win 10 HP(1909). Comes up saying this computer is not supported. Well it was running in 10 minutes earlier. We thought we would try 1903 - no go, then we tried 1809 - nope. Checked the BIOS and it was up to date. We checked thDell Tech Support? web site but no real solutions.

Any ideas. This is an very elderly gentleman and really can't afford a new computer.

Thanks in advance everyone.

I'd be interested to know what Windows version was on it from the factory?

I've had a couple of Dells like that except updating the BIOS took care of the Win10 problems.

Put an image on the SSD and let it rip. Windows 10 even runs on an old Core 2 Duo machine I have here. There's no reason why it wouldn't run on a much newer laptop like that.
