Dell laptop spontaneously waking from sleep while lid is *closed*

On one of the blind tech groups I haunt, someone posted the following this evening:
-----
I have my Dell Windows 10 laptop set to go to sleep after I close the lid. This worked relatively well until recently. Now, my computer still goes to sleep at the set time after closing the lid, but wakes up again about 2 minutes later, and then stays on continually from there.

I have checked my sleep settings, and nothing seems to have been changed, so far as I can tell. In other words, my sleep settings are what they always have been.

Has anyone on list experienced this issue; and, if so, what did you do to address it?

-----

I could swear that this was discussed recently, on this forum, but there seem to be several recent sleep-related issues, so I may be entirely mistaken. I haven't had any luck with the searching I've done.

If this looks familiar to anyone, any pointers would be appreciated.

Nothing here. This is something that, after checking the sleep and advanced sleep settings to look for changes, I would just do a Nuke-n-Pave. It is obviously a windows issue, as it is detecting the closed lid, and I would blame a recent windows update for messing it up. Of course you could do a system restore to a restore point before the incident date see if it works and hope the update doesn't mess it up again, but I would say that a fresh install would be safer and less hassle in the future. Mind you, I would check to see if the problem is still there after the reinstall and before the installation of updates to make sure that it isn't a hardware issue and then again after the updates to make sure. Not that I am telling you anything that you wouldn't do, of course, but just in case your thinking, like my own, can't see the forest through the trees when it gets stuck on a problem.

Thank you gentlemen.

This appears to have been update related (or waiting to apply update related, specifically) based on the original questioner's response this morning that all is back to normal after a pending update was applied.
