Hello everyone,
I'm relatively new to running solo. Until recently I'm been flying with word of mouth customers, such as friends and family; however, I've finally moved into the realm of "strange" customers, ones that are not affiliated with friends and family.
My question is: What is the general consensus regarding liability. I am a mobile tech, with pick up/delivery option. For those of you that engage in this activity, how much responsibility do you all take on, say during transit, and when I perform the work at my home. I rent an apartment, my renters insurance should cover theft, fire, water damage and so forth. I'm most concerned about transport, whereby I may get into a car accident and the customer's equipment is damaged. Do you all take full responsibility for such issues, or you all disclaim this type of issue?

*Sorry for the long question, I have a bad habit of being detailed.
Thanks in advance for any responses I receive.

What he said.

Bottom line: if the PC is in your possession, you're responsible. If you get in a traffic accident and it's the other person's fault or if a burglar steals the customer's PC, YOU are still responsible to the customer.

Also check your house insurance, I doubt it will cover clients computers unless you tell them you are running a business from home. There will be an additional cost I would have thought.

I was able to add some coverage to my car insurance, which cost just a little more, but at least makes me feel better. Our business insurance also offers us coverage too, but it is more of a backup if we ever have to make a claim and our auto insurance denies our claim.
