DisplayPort multi-monitor setup

I've never personally seen that with a Corsair power supply. The PCI-E connections have an 8 pin going to the PSU and the peripheral and SATA connections have an 6 pin going to the PSU. The only way you could mess it up is by using an incompatible cable from another company.

I found the thread it was the AX860, plugged the sata into the pci-e plug hehe

For my clients like this, I custom build systems with dedicated graphics cards that support multiple DisplayPort connections (and of course, decent power supplies to handle the load). I would never attempt this with standard Optiplex desktops.

THIS right here. I am pretty sure that attempting this cost me a client a couple of years ago. They had several dual-monitor Optiplex setups and when they asked for a third monitor for one of their workstations, I foolishly forged ahead with trying to upgrade the thing. Onsite, no less. I bought the first card which should have worked, but for some reason would not install correctly. Back again with a different card, it installed correctly, but despite what it's specs said, it would not drive 3 monitors. It would do any two of the three, but not three at once. This might have been a power supply problem like @sapphirescales notes, but this forever lost the businesses confidence in me and a couple of months later, they had found someone new. Had I just told them flatly at the begining that they needed a custom machine to do that, they probably would have okayed the expense. Instead, trying to save them a few bucks cost me the client.
