yes...I have images of the different OS versions taken with the software and I use all the time with completely different hardware specs and it works great. I then run driverpacks or driver solutions after first boot up.

That is good to hear. I just do not have enough business to justify the $799 price. I know that other methods take more time but I do have more time than money now.

I still think GImageX is pretty darn good... makes using Microsoft's ImageX as easy as point and click.

I have never heard of GIamgeX before but am chekcing it out now. This is the primary reason I participate in Technibble - - share ideas and learn from one another.

I will tell you right now...stay away from Acronis True Image Home. I don't know what happened to that company in terms of the home version but it just went way down hill.

Acronis Backup & Recovery however is fine I have never had a problem with it.

I was considering Acronis for a small business backup then I heard they experiencing a lot of problems. Their support forum is filled with problems. Now I know support forums are for problems but many of these problems have been around for a while and not solved.

I am guessing that they kept messing with the program to create a new version to generate more sales and broke something important. Networking companies do this all the time. Instead of making 3 really good routers, they make 15 models and 12 are junk. We truly do not need more selection, we need reliability.

I have Acronis home and Disk Director and have never had a problem.

Dont forget Acronis do a free version for WD drives, so you can get a feel for it for free.
