Explorer that ignores permissions

When we have a drive which has user protected file which we need to browse and copy we normally use acronis to back them up and restore them without restricted permissions. This is a bit of a cumbersome method. Is there a simpler program that will let you do this with one step as opposed to backing up and restoring with acronis?

Like you need to change permissions to take ownership of file under windows?

Or just want to access / copy file ? Any linux boot flavor will do latter as *nix ignores windoze file attributes.

Just want to access, copy. Ideally looking for a way to do it within Windows simply. That was why I was wondering if there was a third party file Explorer that could do it on the fly

Nice suggestion(I should have thought of that) . We already have invested in the tech version, which allows us to install it on all of our work stations.

Or you can use my ETS program to launch explorer.exe with system access and simply use Windows Explorer to copy your files without those pesky ownership/permissions issues getting in the way.

but after copying the data, will it have restrictive permissions that will still have to be delta with later?

I use a Live version of Linux (usually) Mint to do my copying of files from a Windoze computer. Linux could care less about Mickey$oft's permission settings. You could boot from a CD (DVD) or a USB flash drive.

Oh and shout out to the creator(s) of Y.U.M.I. - I've finally gotten it to work for me! YAY~!

the main issue I don't like about using linux is it removes the hidden attibute also, which is not always preferred.

I'm 99% certain the files copied would inherit the permissions/ownership of the directory you are copying them to.

Now that won't be an issue with this method.
