Have to transfer data from old Mac to new Mac, is there some program just like Fab’s that will make this easy? Not trusting iCloud.

Migration Assistant, it comes installed, and the only thing you lose is MS Office activation

I think there may be some others. Like Intuit and Adobe products. It's been a while but I think iTunes had an issue with purchases form the store. But yes, it's by far the best method for a working old Mac. The biggest problem is so many users have huge stores which can take a while.

Ha. They had NO IDEA what their system password on the old one was, multiple attempts at clearing/resetting it didn't work, and I got to move everything over by hand anyway :P

Just a reminder if you didn't, try leaving the password field blank. Passwords were not required on new machines until a few years ago and upgrades did not enforce that policy.

you can also remove the password after creating the user, they only require passwords in the configuration after that you can go to the system preferences and remover user password
