Surprised with the error this morning.....Emsisoft Browser Security disabled......all good with FF 66.0.4

This strikes me as assuming that OS certificate stack is somehow significantly more reliable or less prone to botched updates.

Having more than one stack needlessly complicates things. Certificate security is core to the OS security. Running a second stack is one more attack vector that can fail and lead to a compromise of the system. Somethings should only be handled by the OS. I have the same criticisms for AV products that insert themselves into the certificate check.

I like the other side of it - when I fiddle with certificates in Firefox, my OS certificates are untouched.
