Evening all,
I've been thinking about a new personal gaming PC for a while as mine is teetering on it's last legs. I don't game as much as I used to though and quite frankly I couldn't justify the cost.
Until now.
I arrived home to find a friend had been given some presents from their IT supplier but their company policy is that they cannot accept them. So I've got a brand new GTX 1060 (6GB DDR5) graphics card. Totally blown away.
I am happy with my PSU (just got replaced under warranty a short while back, 650W). I also have a decent SSD for the OS and some secondary SATA drives for mass storage. I'm happy with the case I've got.
So I need : motherboard, CPU, RAM. I am pretty sure that I can get a copy of Windows from work.
Before when I was thinking about a new PC I was leaning towards a high end i5 rather than an i7, the benchmark results vs price can't really justify it. Beyond this though I really don't know as we don't get any sort of call for gaming rigs at work so I'm asking for any recommended parts for this build. I'm not looking to spend an absolute fortune, just to get bang for my buck.
Finally am I right in thinking that DirectX 12 is only on Windows 10? Google is agreeing with that right now but a lot of the sites are just speculation.
Thanks for your time, sorry if rambling I'm still buzzing from opening the box, I thought it was just presents arriving for the other half's birthday!
