Geek Squad MRI question?

You decided to resurrect a 2 year old thread? Interesting.

Nothing wrong with resurrecting old threads. Aren't new members encouraged to look through the archives? Lots of value there and bringing old topics to life adds to the discussion.

Geek Squad always stimulates conversation here. Are they techs? Salesman? Good or bad for business?

Lousy lawyers end up becoming bill collectors. Lousy news reporters end up becoming TV weathermen. Lousy computer repair technicians end up becoming Geek Squad Agents.

Now way

So i take it you work for Geek squad then??

No; Never have and never will. I'm not trying to defend BB/GS in any way. I have MANY of clients that have been burned by them. However, I will say its wrong to generalize that all of the "agents" or anyone who uses an MRIish tool as a "pizza tech".

Some of them GS agents are real techs with experience and schooling that couldn't find another job. Unfortunately, they fall victim to the bad policies and procedures set in place by corporate.

Actually, i'm in the process of developing my own PE tool disk, so I came here on a google search using something like "make own geek mri pe" terms.

Didn't quite find what I wanted here but none the less am glad I found this community; despite the few replies that bash the competition in attempt to make themselves look better. Leave the dirty politics to the politicians. I say just let the competition bash themselves and laugh when your new clients tell you about it.

But I digress... I look forward to learning/sharing tech business knowledge with yall.

Niiiice!

try out D7 - it has a lot of great stuff, and a lot of raving fans here on technibble.

Wow, that's a pretty impressive package I must say. Only thing I'd like to see added perhaps is an hdd recovery tool. (I forget the name offhand but HBCD has one included). But that's for another thread I suppose.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone had experience running D7 from Win7 PE3 environment? I see it has the capability to mount offline partitions/registry.

Here is a link to FoolishTech's site that shows how to add it to a PE environment using WindBuilder.
