Google Places Question

Hello Everyone

I have a question for those of you familiar with Google places, hopefully i am posting this in the right section. Now I've had a website domain and ad-free hosting for my computer repair business (small time thing) going for a little over year now but it was only recently that i discovered the power of yelp, yp, supermedia etc... (well maybe not power but the advantage to having more free exposure out there lol) and since then my stats both on the site counter and Google places have risen just a little bit anyway...

I am a regular poster on both backpage and craigslist to advertise my services in my city. I have noticed that since last month (when i started to give my business info to yelp etc..) That my Google places statistics has been rising and rising, I am not getting anymore calls then usual unless it is because of the holidays and recovery of funds is needed but anyway i have noticed that on my Google places statistics it reads this

Code:
Top search queries
	Query Impressions
1. backpage 189
2. backpage.com 111
3. backpage nj 30
4. backpage brooklyn 14
5. backpage ny 14
6. backpage. com 3
7. computer repair 3
8. website 3
9. backpage bronx 2
10. backpage website 2
	Other 41

With a total of "412 impressions" in the last 30 days  does anyone know why backpage is showing up on my stats so much and in so high numbers ? i don't post a link to my place page on my backpage postings and also you would think my call volume would be high but it really isn't lol any advice, any idea ?

BTW: My average for almost a year has been pretty much the highest about 23 and average about 13-16 impressions lol

wow guys, you've all never heard of google places ?!?! WOW i mean it isn't the best form of advertising but it is definitely handy and useful. I would of thought a forum full of business owners and users offering services would of already owned an account it's free. Well definitely glad I can help spread the word about it and help you all out :)

I'm sure that most of us here use Google Places - but handy to bring it up for those of us living under a rock ;)

Yes..I have heard of Google Places. Every few weeks in a meeting we have, I hear about Google services from some Google guys that come to these meetings.

However, your question is a bit more technical regarding your site...and not having an answer to that doesn't mean nobody hasn't heard of Google Places.

Personally we don't worry about our website or stats from it....in our experience..the best advertising has been through referrals and word of mouth....and that has proven itself over and over and over and over...

I'm on page 1 for my city and keywords. I get one call every month or two based on Google. Until a shift in society's technological paradigm takes places, it's not worth losing any sleep over yet.

exactly... i am high up on the list too.... doesnt bring in that much business. 1 or two a month maybe would not worry about a small part of marketing. i would focus your effort elsewhere.

interesting about the back page though.... real head scratcher

Google places is very useful, your business will come up quickly when people perform a google search based on their postcode.

True guys, really appreciate the responses. I just figured it out i think, backpage kinda puts a google maps link on the bottom of service postings so i guess that's bringing traffic in or what not. O well, but yeah very true although I've been longing for 1st page computer repair in my city. NYC is wonderful but lots and lots of competition so i don't see that getting anywhere.
