Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to you all!

Not a father her myself but it was nice for me to take out my dad and the family today.

Three children grown (38, 30 and 28), 4 grand-babies with one on the way. Just got back from sitting a spell with Pops in the front yard of the house I was raised in. Happy Father's day to all you daddies out there.

We really enjoyed chatting with my son today about my two grandsons. I'm immensely proud of my son and how he has turned out, after going through typical, troublesome teen years many years ago. It's funny how your kids can be so much trouble in their teens but turn out to be such wonderful people and great parents themselves once they mature and have kids of their own. One of his sons is so much like him in temperament and personality, I can hardly wait until he's a teenager. :)

PS - We also enjoyed a fantastic charcoal-BBQed steak with wife and daughter this evening.

Interesting that the US celebrates Father's day on the same day we do in the UK; I didn't know that. And yet our Mother's day dates are like what, a month or so apart?

My Dad's birthday is on the 18th, the day before mine. So Father's Day for us has always been a joint Birthday/Father's Day thing since the dates are so close together.
