Just a quick note to let you know that I've had 3 computers so far where half the Sage Accounts interface/gui is missing.

It appears that on Sunday 19th October, Avast released an update that causes the file sg50End.dll to be identified as a (false positive) threat and moved to the 'Chest' (Quarantine).

Right clicking and choosing 'Restore and add to exclusions' restored the file but did not actually add it to exclusions. This had to be done manually.

I have also noticed that Avast was showing the same behavior with "Shortcuts" software for Salons. I could not add an exception either. I visited the website and created a ticket on the problem and they actually had a fix for it later that day. :)

Thanks coffee.

Just to clarify, right clicking the entry in the quarantine and choosing restore did send it back to its parent folder.

I then added the entire Sage Accounts folder in Program Files x86 to the File/Folder exceptions. Don't want Avast messing with the Sage stuff, Ive got enough Sage headaches without creating more.

That reminds me... I have a Sage question/issue that Sage support can't figure out. Need to create a new thread.

MS Money EXE is also being quarantined...

Also...

Microsoft Money 2005 (last UK version) is having its main executable (msmoney.exe) quarantined by Avast as a false positive.

Got a couple of them so far - the OAPs do love their MS Money and are most upset when it goes wrong (and that there's no further development from MS).

If anyone has an replacement suggestion for those diehards (when Money can no longer be installed on the up-to-date version of Windows) I'm all ears. :p
