Recently went through this on a popular site I frequent.

You may need an account to view the second link. It's a thread describing the exact same thing. The forum owner is a pretty concientious guy and worked really hard to find the source. He had trouble believing it was real and had lots of trouble reproducing it. Eventually they found some rogue campaigns coming through Google from an ad network in the UK
