[REQUEST] How to use a USB floppy drive with Windows 10

At 13:11 it explains that the disk needs to go into a computer with a native floppy controller and won't work anywhere else even in the USB floppy that I've been attempting. That is why I won't be able to get those photos off conventionally.
You have misunderstood that. That is ONLY referring to the memory stick FDD adapter, not regular Floppy Disks. But that is all unneeded if you are using Memory Sticks then you don't need the adapter. Just a memory stick reader. There are lots of multi-format memory card readers around that plug into USB.

Okay so some success today-hooked up that old XP machine and it easily read the diskette! The fella in the picture is now 6'7" and graduated high school.

Thank you all for your suggestions. That video hit the sweet spot about the controller.

All floppies are FAT 12. Windows 10 handles them just fine on my machines.
OK, thanks for confirming that as I was unable to find that precise info when googling. I thought that floppies might have been formatted as FAT16 after an earlier phase of FAT12.
