How To Use Office Activation Folder from Fab's Autobackup 4 Tech

That's odd. I have the card in front of me. same key :) the 2016 key is not listed though and that's expected

But to be fair.. customer should have the info anyway. I don't deal with it unless they want me to reinstall it. I always make it known that if they have office on there and want it reinstalled I need the key. Or I sell them a new office key.

Strange because you are the only one on the internet that can do it. Google it. You will find hundreds of posts on many forums on the subject and they all end the same way. Only the last 5 digits are stored in the registry. A hash code that can be used ONLY on the same machine is the only thing you can find. The exception is VLKs and even that key is not the "real key", just the keyserver unlock key, which if you have a valid one will get you an activation code.provided you have internet access.

Now it is possible that perhaps someone with a key retrieval program has cracked the hash and can reverse generate the key. What program are you using?

Am I correct in saying it's nothing more than Produkey?
Which doesn't support Office 2013 or 2016.

I believe you will only get a 2013/2016 key due to the version. If you have to put the key into office.com/setup and get an install key that's different then you will only get the last 5 from using ospp.vbs.

His screenshot shows Office 2013 Professional. Now I sold a copy of that a while back and it had a different key card. Also it was a scratch off one. The site did not add it to my account just showed me the same key I put in.

I've had a couple 2016 Home/Student or business ones that did the same thing. Except these cards were identical to the normal ones. In those cases and that 2013 it took the product key directly off the card into Office. I suspect they were meant for a different region.

Hi, first of all, you must know that Fab's AutoBackup 4 Tech is no longer supported.
It has not the ability to grab any MS Office or Windows keys since Nirsoft Produkey is not interfaced with it.
You would have to grab the office key manually.
Then, the MS Office activation backup/restore works only if you meet all these requirements:
- The Windows edition, architecture (32 or 64bit) and installed key must be the same from source to target computer. For example, if the source operating system is Windows 7 activated with a SLP key and you reinstalled it using the key on the COA, this will not work!
- Same thing for MS Office, it has to be the same edition, same architecture and same license key.
- MS Office must not be greater than 2010

Thinking about it, if I do not find a better way to perform this task in Fab's AutoBackup, I really should remove that feature that works in a very few cases.
