Importing data from PC to mac.

I'm headed out to a client tomorrow to transfer her from a PC to a mac, mostly including documents and pictures. I assume the correct way to do this is to transfer the photos from the Windows HD into a folder in the photos folder in Mac and then import them in Photos so that Mac can mark and index the photos. I understand that there may be some loss of organization as far as dates, folders, and time, but this is typically how this is done... correct?

Sounds right to me. We need autofabs for mac too lol.

If the pictures have the EXIF info with correct dates, etc then Photos will handle all that. If they’ve got a real organized file and folder structure in Windows, that doesn’t come over as far as I know.

Like any other "wizard" it's ok. Pluses and minuses. Does work better in Mac to Mac. But isn't too bad for M$ to Mac. Personally for new machines I prefer to just do things manually. All too often you get the bad and ugly along with the good using wizards.

Did the client request that you do the import into Photos vs moving the file structure that was setup in Win?

Looks like you went to the site, judging by the date...
