inspiron 1501 bios password reset

We have a inspiron 1501 with a bios password that needs to be reset. My employee did the work, so I will relay the best I know what he has tried. He referred to this guide. I think he tried the backdoor passwords listed and also reset the cmos(we knew would not help).

Have any of you had success with this particular model and have a suggestion. Thanks!

In the code and it gives you the password. I can't remember where I got them but try were off the net somewhere many moons ago. PM your email I can send them to you.

The official method is to contact Dell Technical Support. Dell Technical Support will request the Service Tag and Express Service Code from the bottom of the Latitude. If the current user is not the original Latitude owner, Dell will transfer the used Latitude’s registration from the original owner with only the Service Tag and Express Service Code from the tag on the laptop.

I should have added. This computer was an old hand me down and we do not have access to the original owners. In this case dell will not be able to help.
