Intel RAID-1 Wont boot anymore (win10) - Need ideas!

Hey all - had a customer with a nice system and a RAID-1 intel motherboard RAID setup (2 samsung PRO ssds).

He decided to forget that his DVD button was on his DVD drive, and decided to use the HARD RESET button on his tower instead. He did this multiple times...

Now, the RAID splash screen shows 'verify' but bootable still.

However, when booting, the Windows 10 logo appears for a split second then disappears - then re-appears because it is loading into the 'diagnostic' mode and it cant find anything wrong.

I have tried booting each drive individually with no luck. I have tried running CHKDSK on the volume - found nothing wrong. I tried going into CTRL-I in the beginning to see if I could run the verify manually there - no luck. Also, NO System Restore point available!

He has a multitude of programs (some really annoying) - so I would greatly prefer NOT to reformat this system.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Just tried all these too (with no change in symptom):

bootrec /RebuildBcd
bootrec /fixMbr
bootrec /fixboot

And

• bootsect /nt60 SYS or bootsect /nt60 ALL

Did you get an image of the drives before trying all of these things? Can you boot to a Win 10 iso and use DISM?

Why image the drives while they are in a state of non boot? Or do you mean as a backup before attempting repairs?

Yes, as a backup before attempting repairs. Just so you can get back to a square one after trying a bunch of things that don't work if needed. We have no idea what shape the file system is in and having the ability to at least copy data off the image is nice to have. Having an image before starting work is quite useful for many jobs, not just where you suspect hard drive issues.

the drives are logically readable in another system (backing up profile as we speak).

can I use DISM from the command prompt? Or is that ONLY for an image? I will try an offline SFC scan once the backup is complete.

You can run it from command prompt. sfc /scannow is a good thought as well. This is the command I was thinking of:
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Saw those commands on google. Question though - from command prompt through the recovery console - wouldn't it be OFFLINE?

Correct, offline would look like this:
Dism /Image:C:\offline /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:c:\test\mount\windows

Hopefully the source is in "good enough" condition to complete.

**** dude just backup his data and nuke and pave it. Not your fault the end user is a moron. You can install Windows 10 in 20 minutes on system like that.

nline - you are right - and that is likely the path to be taken - HOWEVER - talk of images got me thinking - and I am pretty sure I set this customer up with Acronis because of the PITA his programs were to setup.

He will check tomorrow if Acronis has faithfully kept backing up his C: image. If so - CAKE!
