Interesting read about ctrl-alt-del

How many here use keyboard shortcuts and what are your favourites?
Mine are Windows Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V, Ctrl + X, Alt + F4, ESC, Delete, and Menu Key.

I gotta think for a minute...just so used to habits.
Windows + L every day when I getup from my office rig to leave...to lock workstation
Windows + D to minimize all get to desktop
Windows + R to get to the Run dialog box
Ctrl+A/Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V
Ctrl+F
Ctrl+P
Alt+E open winders explorer
Alt+Esc cycle through open windows

...at the moment that's all I can think of.

In addition to ones already mentioned...
I use SHIFT + ARROW keys to highlight characters in text.
SHIFT + CTRL + ARROW keys to highlight words.

Very handy for editing characters or whole words.

Big fan of keyboard shortcuts... use lots of them.

Also use CTRL + SHIFT + ESC for bringing up task manager.

Most of the ones I use are kinda stupid and are actually specific to browsers.

Ctrl + W = close tab
Ctrl + T = new tab
Ctrl + + = Scale up / Ctrl + - = Scale down (can also use Ctrl + Mousewheel for the same effects)
Ctrl + 0 = Reset scale (actually recommend this one a lot as most people don't know about the Ctrl + Mousewheel thing and accidentally screw things up)

And ofc the good ol' Ctrl + Esc that nobody uses to bring up the start menu.

I have for some reason had to learn:
Control+Alt+ Arrow keys
Window key+ X

otherwise, I have used the ones already mentioned regularly

Highlight an item in a listbox of things in Windows then press ctrl & plus (from the number pad) to resize all the columns automatically

I didn't know that one - awesome. I just tried it on the services list in a remote session - that description column is about two-screen-widths wide - based on the amount of scrolling I had to do to rein it in afterwards - haha.

modern laptops seem to be missing the break key...

That's a shame, but to be honest, this is the only thing I ever use the pause key for -haha. Back in the DOS days, it was a way to halt a directory listing or other scrolling list. These days, a command line window scrolls a directory so fast, it's pointless to try for the pause button, I just use /p or pipe through the more filter if that's what I'm trying to accomplish.
