In the last month Technibble has gone through some major changes, one is the theme and the other is the format of our content. I am now using podcasts primarily (although still available as written content too) and I wanted to ask, what do you think of the new changes?

Anything you like and/or dislike? ideas and suggestions welcome. Feel free to be brutally honest.

I tend to look at the blog during my lunch break at work, so I am still looking at the written content only (my work PC does not have speakers). I do like the Q&A interview format though!

Being relatively new here I can't comment on if the changes are positive or not but I can say I like the site and reading through some history seems like there is a great group of "core" members here as others come and go. Whether that's due to them finding other sites to hang out on or running their own shown didn't work out in the end, hard to say.

Overall - Love the site, content and people here! And yes, I've listened to a couple of the podcasts while working on some other things and enjoy them. I'm always listening to something in the background hoping to pick up a tip or trick here and there. I can hear the same thing 10 times and it's only the 1 time that it relates to me is when I really "listen" to what's being said.

Didnt know it was there? Not interested in it?
When I have gone there deliberately, I found the articles on the homepage interesting to read but many/most of them irrelevant to my needs/immediate interest. It's much more efficient for me to browse through new post titles and selectively read what does interest me. I like the way my avatar is superimposed on the thread OP's avatar to flag discussions I have participated in, in the past. I don't have speakers attached to my main PC and rarely put on my headphones to listen to anything but Youtube videos or music during down time.

Overall I like the structure of the forums....some of the changes, additions.
Although, having the Microsoft section broken down into individual operating systems seems a little cluttered....

I navigate the forums from the primary birds eye view....bouncing around throughout the day in and out of various sub forums as I lurk and bounce around during brief and erratic moments of freetime.

Not interested. That is no fault of your excellent, informational site. I'm in the waning years of an almost 40 year career fixing computers. It appears that my motivation, gross sales and bladder performance are inversely proportional to my ever increasing age.

I wish I stumbled upon this forum when I started my biz years back. Lots of valuable content.

I really enjoy the forums and the Podcasts have definitely been a big plus. I listen to them after getting off work or heading to job sites.

I always go directly to the Home page to see if there is any new articles or content and then I will visit the Forums and go to New Posts.

I joined Technibble years ago because of the information I found in the articles. That is what I love seeing the most.

I personally prefer the written articles to podcasts. I am just not a huge fan of podcasts in general. I know I know not liking podcasts is not cool but I don't care lol.

As for the new theme changes and such I like them. They definitely give the site/forum a more modern look.

As another New Post reader, the creating of more sections doesn't have much impact on me. When I look at the Forums list to search for something, it just seems to be getting cluttered. I read almost every topic, to see if there is anything I can learn or maybe add something to. I check in frequently, while I am waiting for something or have a little down time.

I drive over 2 hours each day visiting clients, and I listen to podcasts in the car; it's the only place I listen to podcasts. Most tech business podcasts don't catch my interest, they are either too difficult to follow while driving, or too lightweight.

I've listened to a few of the TN podcasts, but like reading the articles, I haven't made it a regular habit, maybe as things progress.

Thanks for the forum, many things I've learned here have made me money and saved me time. It's a hard balance to run a site used by people with little experience in the business as well as people that have been doing it for a while. Keeping the focus on those who do this to make money is a great service. I know opening up to enthusiasts would expand the user base but would kill the site for many of us.

Well I have never listened to a pod cast. I have never downloaded ITunes on to my computer. I had never owned anything Apple funny many many moons ago I worked for them for a short time.

But recently I added Live streaming to my business offerings and now I have acquired my first Apple system.
So who knows maybe this old fart will one day download ITunes and listen to a podcast.

I greatly enjoy the forums and have learned a lot here. It is one of the sites I try to visit as daily. But as to the main website I agree with Larry I have never found the website articles to be relevant to my needs/immediate interest most of the time. And many of the articles really just never seemed to do more than touch on the subject.

Most of my customers are minimum of 1 hr drive for me so I just learned my fancy Ford Escape can play audio books on thumb drives and I have been enjoying Karl Palachuk's Managed Services in a month audio book which I learned about on the forums. What a eye opener and a problem solver that book has been for what I was doing wrong and how to correct it. Thank you to the forums for recommending that book. It is a must read or listen to in my opinion if your moving to Managed Services.
So odds are when I am done with it I will venture into some podcast to listen to.

But I personally would like to Thank Bryce and those who contribute here It has been a great resource for me in my business.

Sorry but not a fan of podcasts. Like others it is normally check on " new posts" and see what is of interest.
Others may have other ideas and so variety is the name of the game to get a mix of visitors.

Must admit that I'm not a podcast fan either. It's just too time consuming. 10-15 minutes of real content spread out to 30-40+ minutes what with all the banter and everything. MUCH prefer to read a transcript as I can skip the things I'm not interested in; plus the written version is usually boiled down to the essentials anyway.

Reader yes, pod caster no, like many others. But I'm not 25. I find the New Posts to be the best since a lot of my work means I cannot spend chunks or time focusing on just browsing around a website or listening to a 30 minute recording.
