Laser weapons edge toward use in US military

Sounds pretty cool! The Bridgeport Derecktor yard was a fledgling new-build yard... but it didn't really work out so well. I worked on a 39M offshore tug project (but it just looked like a gigantic harbor tug) named Independence for Boston Tow, and worked on the 89M Cakewalk project. That was recently renamed Aquila and can be chartered for $990,000 per week if you're interested. As an added benefit, doors open up on the sides of the vessel and it poops out smaller boats as it goes along. I'm not kidding either.
